Brian Fluharty / Getty ImagesJune 15, 2026 2:53 pm EDT Updated The Atlanta Braves announced on Monday that right-handed starter Spencer Strider would be sidelined from throwing for at least a month while he recovers from right elbow inflammation.Strider, who exited his start on Friday after his velocity dipped well below his season average of 95 mph, received confirmation from Dr. Keith Meister in Dallas that he does not currently need surgery. Meister performed the internal brace procedure on Strider’s elbow that ended his 2024 season after two starts. Strider had traditional Tommy John surgery before the Braves drafted him out of Clemson in 2020.Strider, who pitched 125 1/3 innings last season, missed the start of this season because of an oblique injury.This story will be updated.
