But two decades on from the era of Victoria Beckham and Cheryl Cole, the wives and girlfriends of this year's World Cup team are set to have a quieter stay in Miami.England left their warm-weather training base in Florida on Saturday morning and flew to Kansas City, where they are hoping to spend the next five weeks.Meanwhile their families will stay nearly 1,500 miles away in Miami, with relatives told they will only be allowed to spend time with the players straight after games.Thomas Tuchel's men are residing at their Inn at Meadowbrook boutique hotel before opening their World Cup campaign against Croatia in Dallas this Wednesday.The team will then face further travel to play their other two Group L games against Ghana in Boston on June 23 and then Panama in New Jersey on June 27. Bukayo Saka and his fiancée Tolami Benson in New York City on June 3 for the premiere of his new documentary 'The Time Is Now'. Benson is among the WAGs to have flown out to the US Ollie Watkins with his wife Ellie Watkins at Euro 2024 in Germany, before they married in 2025 Jude Bellingham with his partner Ashlyn Castro during the Madrid Open on April 22, 2026Fans are hoping England's lengthy journey will finish in glory on July 19 by ending 60 years of hurt and winning the World Cup for the first time since 1966.But relatives have been banned from overnight stays with players, given the huge scale of a tournament that could see England play five games in just 17 days.With the families set to have plenty of free time, Miami is said to have become a base because of nearby child-friendly options such Florida's Disney World.The WAGs did however get some time with the players during their warm-up camp at West Palm Beach as the team tried to acclimatise to the hot weather.They were able to enjoy a day-and-a-half off following Thursday's abridged behind closed doors match against Miami FC, which England won 6-0.England beat Costa Rica 3-0 in a storm-delayed friendly last Wednesday in Orlando and won 1-0 in another preparatory game on June 6 against New Zealand in Tampa.Among the WAGs to have travelled to the US are Ollie Watkins's wife Ellie Watkins, Jude Bellingham's partner Ashlyn Castro and Bukayo Saka's fiancée Tolami Benson.Saka and Benson, who announced their engagement last November, visited New York City earlier this month for the premiere of his new documentary 'The Time Is Now'. Back in 2006, the WAGs became infamous for transforming England's base into a celebrity circus featuring lavish spending, heavy drinking and nightly partying.
