NEW YORK, CMC – The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency says a Jamaican man has been apprehended among several immigrants during targeted enforcement operations aimed at apprehending “known criminal illegal aliens and immigration fugitives” in the New York City metropolitan area.ICE said its Fugitive Operations teams arrested Mosiah Wright among “criminal illegal aliens convicted of violent and repulsive crimes, including murder, rape, sexual abuse of a child under 11, forcible touching of the sexual or intimate parts of another person, and sexual contact with a person incapable of consent.”ICE said the other immigrants apprehended were nationals of El Salvador, Ecuador, and Honduras.ICE said Wright, “a previously removed criminal illegal alien from Jamaica convicted of murder by the US District Court for the District of Minnesota,” was also arrested for “carrying a concealed weapon illegally, drug possession, resisting arrest and probation violations.”“While sanctuary politicians continue to prioritise criminal illegal aliens over law-abiding New Yorkers, our officers are on the front lines every day keeping our communities safe from murderers, rapists, and pedophiles who prey on our most vulnerable citizens,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Field Office Director Kenneth Genalo.“Protecting New Yorkers from criminal illegal aliens will always be a priority for this office,” he added. “We will never waver in our commitment to arrest criminal illegal aliens and remove them from our country.”ICE claims that it protects “the homeland by arresting and removing those who undermine public safety and violate immigration laws in Metropolitan New York.”Follow The Gleaner on X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram @JamaicaGleaner and on Facebook @GleanerJamaica.
