However, after several hours of waiting, court officials informed lawyers and litigants that the court would not be sitting and that all matters on the day’s cause list had been adjourned until Tuesday.

Proceedings in the ongoing case filed by the Department of State Services (DSS) against human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, were stalled on Monday after the Federal High Court judge scheduled to rule on a recusal application failed to appear.

Sowore arrived at the court premises at exactly 8:20 a.m., anticipating a decision on his motion requesting the judge’s withdrawal from further handling of the case.

However, after several hours of waiting, court officials informed lawyers and litigants that the court would not be sitting and that all matters on the day’s cause list had been adjourned until Tuesday.

According to Sowore, no prior notice was given that the court would not sit.
