NewsUK NewsCrimeEmergency services arrived to the scene in Cheshire to find a vehicle had ploughed through the playground, as a 63-year-old woman has been arrested14:01, 15 Jun 2026Updated 14:06, 15 Jun 2026A two-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car ploughed through a playground at a nursery in Cheshire.‌Emergency services including the police, fire service and ambulance service arrived at the scene in Ellesmere Port as two other children sustained minor injuries.‌A woman aged 63 has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.‌The incident took place just before 10am on Monday, June 15, on Vale Road in the Whitby area of the town.Cheshire Constabulary said a car had driven through a fence and into the playground area of the nursery.‌A statement from the force read: "A two-year-old boy has sustained what are thought to be serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for further treatment."The child's next of kin have been made aware. Two other children sustained minor injuries following the incident."Partou Sunny Days Nursery and Pre-school acknowledged they were "dealing with an incident".
