Radwan Shakur, from Wembley, London, was found with stab wounds in Central Park, Chelmsford12:31, 15 Jun 2026Updated 13:06, 15 Jun 2026Two teenagers have been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in a park in Chelmsford, Essex.‌Romeo Mfinda, 18, of Widford Chase, Chelmsford, and a 17-year-old boy also from Chelmsford, who can't be named for legal reasons, have both been charged with murder, possession with intent to supply cannabis, and possession of a knife in a public place.‌Radwan Shakur, from Wembley, London, has been identified as the victim by Essex Police.‌Officers were called to Central Park in Chelmsford at around 7pm on Friday, June 12, following reports of a serious assault.Mr Shakur, who was aged 21, was found with stab wounds and, despite the best efforts of emergency workers, he died at the scene.Three teenagers aged 18, 17 and 14 were initially arrested on Friday at an address in Auckland Close, Chelmsford, on suspicion of murder.‌The 18-year-old man was later released on bail, while the 14-year-old boy was released under investigation as inquiries led by Essex Police's Serious Crime Directorate remain ongoing.A fourth suspect was identified over the weekend and another 18-year-old man was arrested at an address in Widford Chase, Chelmsford, on Sunday afternoon (June 14).Mfinda and the 17-year-old boy were both charged overnight, Essex Police said, and they are due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Monday, June 15.‌Mr Shakur has been described as a "kind soul" who had "a smile that would brighten up a room".His family said in a statement: "Radwan was a kind soul loved by his family and everyone that knew him. He had a smile that would brighten up a room."He had such hopes and dreams for his future. He was looking forward to going to university and the bright future ahead. Our hearts are truly broken.
