Destination X is set to return to BBC screens this year following the success of its first season.12:07, 15 Jun 2026Updated 17:16, 15 Jun 2026Last summer, the country was captivated by Rob Brydon's fresh BBC game show, Destination X.The programme followed a group of 13 participants who journeyed across Europe while attempting to determine their location in the world.Travelling aboard a blacked-out coach, the group would encounter numerous challenges throughout the programme to obtain hints about their whereabouts, which they had to identify each episode. Those who guessed the greatest distance from their actual location were subsequently eliminated from the contest.Recently, there have been suggestions that the programme is returning this year for another series, following the victory of Judith Magambo. Now, ahead of the popular programme making a return, former participant Daren Parr, who narrowly missed reaching the final, discussed his experience on the BBC programme as he revealed there was one occasion he was reprimanded by the programme's bosses, reports Wales Online. When questioned if there was anything audiences didn't witness, the cab driver told SMC Coach Hire, "What you saw is what you've got. They did not re-take anything once."Apart from one time when we were in Austria, when Rob Brydon got on the bus, and he had a brown-like sheepskin jacket on, and it was the elimination part. When he gets on the bus, it's all serious."He turned around, and I joked, 'It's John Watson,' and everyone cracked up laughing. The director said over the speakers, 'Daren, you can't do stuff like that.' I had quite a bit of banter with Rob Brydon."When discussing the stringent regulations they were required to adhere to, the former participant revealed they were prohibited from wearing branded garments and also had a 'safe area' they retreated to nightly. He replied: "There were 48 vehicles following that bus, and they built this safe area every night. They built a 10-foot high wall, you had security guards there, a medical officer, so no one could cheat."Another rule was that you could only urinate inside the toilet cubicle on the bus, not the other toilet method."You know what I mean? That was a big no-no. When you got off the bus, you had to wear headphones and goggles on. They were really on the ball. Also, no watches allowed."Destination X is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
