As well as seven UK number-one albums and more than 10 million album sales around the world, Kasabian have headlined Glastonbury and been nominated for the Mercury Prize. They return to Dublin this week as part of a European tour. In 2020 the band parted ways with Tom Meighan, their frontman, after it emerged that he was about to be charged with assaulting his partner. (He pleaded guilty.) A ninth record, Act III, is set to arrive in July. Some of these tracks are sure to make it to Fairview for a road test. When and where is it?Kasabian play Fairview Park, in north Dublin, on Tuesday, June 16th. What time should I arrive? Gates open at 7pm. Early queuing is not permitted, so aim to arrive for that time. The show itself begins at 8pm. So far in 2026 they have been away from stages, preparing for Act III and honing their set for these summer shows. Traffic delays are inevitable, and you’re encouraged to walk, cycle and use public transport.Promoters do not operate transport to or from the venue, but private coaches are available and can be booked online.Travel by train/Dart: Clontarf Road Dart station is about a 10-minute walk from the event. After the gig, southbound trains will run towards Connolly Station, bringing you in towards the city centre. You can find full information on train and Dart timetables here.Travel by bus: Dublin Bus offers plenty of services to Fairview Park, with bus stops only a couple of minutes from the entrance to the site. If you are in the city centre, buses travel from Eden Quay (14, 15, 27a, 27b), Abbey Street Lower (6, H1, H2, H3, 130) and Talbot Street (42, 43). You’ll find full information here.Travel by car: There is no public parking at the event, and organisers strongly advise against parking illegally or in residential areas. Are there any tickets left?At the time of writing, tickets for the gig remain available on Ticketmaster here. Make sure to download your ticket to your phone in advance of the gig, as there may be issues around internet connectivity at the site. Screenshots of tickets may not work on the day, as Ticketmaster uses live, dynamic barcodes that update regularly. What is security like? Strict security checks will be in operation. Bear in mind that any attendee under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. There are no readmissions to the concert, so don’t leave unless you’re ready to head home. Among the prohibited items are bags or backpacks larger than A4 in size. You may be delayed or denied entry if you arrive with a bag that doesn’t meet this requirement. Fairview Park has no luggage-storage facilities. Flag poles, glass or cans, umbrellas, alcohol, e-scooters or e-bikes, disposable vapes, flares and professional recording equipment are also banned. It is a standing-only venue, and camping or collapsible chairs are also prohibited.What does the weather look like?Met Éireann’s forecast suggests Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with limited sunny spells. While there will be a few patchy outbreaks of light rain and drizzle at first, more persistent rain and drizzle will develop later in the evening. Highest temperatures are expected to be 17 to 20 degrees. Fairview Park is a tented venue, but gigs still take place on grass, so make sure to wear boots or runners and bring a raincoat or poncho for the journey to and from the site.
