On Sunday, June 14, 2026, President Donald Trump announced that the US and Iran had agreed a framework deal to end the war.

The United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran are set to formally sign a peace agreement on Friday, June 19 in Switzerland, following what mediators described as the successful conclusion of intensive negotiations aimed at ending months of military hostilities between the two countries and their allies.

The development was announced by Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday, where he revealed that both parties had reached an agreement to permanently cease military operations.

"Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED," Sharif said.

According to the Pakistani leader, "Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon."
