Residents across Sofia’s Lyulin district are facing a temporary disruption in hot water supply as scheduled maintenance works begin, according to “Toplofikatsia Sofia.”
The utility company confirmed that from today until June 21, hot water will be suspended across all micro-districts of Lyulin. The measure is linked to annual planned repairs at the Lyulin heating plant and along sections of the district’s heat transmission network.
Company officials describe the works as part of a broader preventive maintenance program aimed at ensuring system reliability, safety, and operational efficiency ahead of the upcoming heating season. They emphasize that the repairs are intended to reduce risks of breakdowns and improve long-term service stability.
A separate interruption will last longer for residents of Lyulin 4 and Lyulin 5 micro-districts. Due to the replacement of a key segment of the main heat pipeline, supply in these areas will be halted from June 15 to June 28.
In its statement, the company noted that these interventions are necessary to secure “more reliable and safer heat supply services” and to lower the likelihood of technical incidents during peak demand periods.
