MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has called on Congress to assemble for a special session on June 17, aiming to fast-track the passage of social protection legislation amid ongoing energy struggles and recent calamities.

Through Proclamation No. 1318 signed on Monday, the President ordered Congress to tackle priority bills that are already in the advanced stages of the legislative process but remain pending.
