MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) surpassed its collection target anew in May, generating P279.1 billion in gross revenues following the end of the extended annual income tax return filing season.
In a statement on Monday, the BIR said May collections reached P279.135 billion, up 14.15 percent from the P244.5 billion recorded in the same month last year.

This figure also exceeded the agency’s target by P78.22 million
