The Russian army launched a massive strike on the town of Putyvl in the Sumy region and repeatedly attacked the area where rescue workers were operating.

According to Ukrinform, the State Emergency Service reported this on Telegram.

“Fires broke out in a residential area: People’s houses, garages, and outbuildings were on fire. While firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, the enemy struck again at the location where rescue workers were operating. The personnel managed to retreat to a safe place—none of the emergency service workers were injured,” the statement said.

A community rescue officer transported an older woman, whose home was damaged in the attack, to the hospital. She was unharmed.

Despite the constant threat of further strikes, all pockets of fire have been extinguished, the State Emergency Service emphasized.
