MANILA, Philippines — General Santos International Airport will resume flights on Monday, June 15, following a week-long suspension.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced the resumption of flights at the airport exactly a week after a magnitude 7.8 offshore earthquake struck Southern Mindanao on June 8.

“DOTr and CAAP have conducted a complete safety assessment, and we confirmed that commercial operations at GenSan Airport may resume tomorrow so that our passengers’ travel will no longer be delayed,” Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez said in Filipino.
