The NRL’s top referee, Ashley Klein, issued a statement late last week, admitting that he had a “problem with gambling on horse racing and greyhound racing”.It was a response to a story in The Sydney Morning Herald that Klein had lost more than $400,000 betting with corporate bookmakers and placed himself on the national self-exclusion register in 2023.
