These include leading banks, alongside fashion retailer Phase Eight and charity outlet British Heart Foundation.‌TFG, the company behind Phase Eight, may close up to 400 branches, having already confirmed intentions to shut more than 100 struggling locations as part of an extensive reorganisation scheme. The label has already confirmed the closure of its St Andrews branch, having previously closed outlets in Dundee and Perth.‌Likewise, the British Heart Foundation has revealed intentions to close 150 of its shops. It is anticipated that the initial 90 premises will close permanently by March 2027, with the remainder to shut by the subsequent March.‌Executives stated the charity is confronting an "exceptionally challenging trading environment" but have pledged to maintain their "ground-breaking research." They will keep selling products online, including through their official eBay pageMorrisons has confirmed that seven of its branches will close, with 93 more to follow. The supermarket behemoth, which operates over 2,200 outlets throughout the UK, recently disclosed plans to shut dozens of Morrisons Daily sites.‌The supermarket explained the outlets, which were initially acquired as part of a £190million rescue agreement for McColl's in 2022, were under continuous assessment but had been unprofitable for some time despite attempts to improve performance. A spokesperson for the firm confirmed that staff impacted by the closures could be offered alternative positions within the company.Around 100 stores are set to close, with a complete list still to be revealed.
