Nicholas Pooran is a Trinidadian professional cricket player who plays for Trinidad and Tobago in West Indian domestic matches and for the West Indies team in international cricket. The left-handed batsman was born on October 2, 1995, in Trinidad and Tobago. Pooran has played 31 ODI matches and 41 T20Is in his cricket career. He studied at Naparima College in San Fernando. At school-level cricket, Pooran broke a lot of records. Following this, he went to appear for the West Indies Under-19 team in 2012. In 2013, he was named as the youngest player to play in the Caribbean Premier League. In the same year, Pooran also played four matches in the Regional Super50 competition for his own country. In 2016, he made his international Twenty20 debut against Pakistan. Pooran made his ODI debut against England in 2019. Following this, Pooran was selected for the ICC World Cup 2019. Mumbai Indians bought him for Rs. 30 lakh before the IPL 2017. Pooran was bought by Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 4.2 crore before the IPL 2019.
