Sydney-based fund manager New Forests has kicked off a $1 billion equity raising for its first global fund, investing across forestry and agriculture along with carbon and biodiversity, buoyed by investor interest for so-called natural capital assets amid global volatility.
Although most of New Forest’s $10.2 billion in assets under management are in Australia and New Zealand, about one-fifth of its portfolio is held in individual regions including the United States, Africa and South-East Asia.
