Security personnel from Kautikari, who are currently based in Maiduguri, confirmed the incident, noting that details regarding casualties and the extent of destruction were still being assessed.
Terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram/ISWAP on Saturday evening launched a fresh attack on Kautikari village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, setting two schools ablaze and forcing residents to flee into surrounding bushes for safety.
SaharaReporters gathered that the occurred at about 7pm, targeted Kautikari Primary School and Government Day Secondary School, both of which were reportedly engulfed in flames as the insurgents stormed the community.
Kautikari, a village in the Chibok axis of Borno State, has suffered repeated attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in recent years, despite ongoing military operations against the terrorist group in the North-East.
