New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address four student conventions in different cities, one this month and three in July, against the examination paper leaks and seek Union education minister's resignation over the matter, the main opposition party announced on Saturday. The first phase of the Congress' proposed national agitation against the Centre over economic and youth issues comes at a time when the rapidly expanding online movement Cockroach Janata Party is emerging as a platform for airing students' grievances."Shri Rahul Gandhi, who has emerged as the most consistent and credible advocate for India's students and youth, will conduct a series of large student conventions starting with Kota (17 June), Allahabad (10 July), Patna (11 July) and Delhi (14 July), bringing together students, aspirants, youth organisations, educators and all those directly affected by examination scandals," All India Congress Committee general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal said in a statement. "The campaign will highlight the hardships faced by millions of young Indians whose futures are being repeatedly jeopardized by paper leaks, rising examination costs and the government's failure to ensure a fair and transparent recruitment and education system."Some in the party circles were intrigued by the 23-day gap between the first and the second proposed conventions.Venugopal further said that the proposed agitation will seek to unite students beyond political affiliations and provide a platform for affected youths to share their experiences.
