Khavda, Gujarat: Adani Green Energy (AGEL) plans to commission a 14 gigawatt-hour battery energy storage system (BESS) at Khavda, Gujarat, by end of this fiscal year, seeking to reduce wastage of clean energy in a country that's still in the process of building the necessary storage infra.The country's largest renewable energy company has already commissioned a cumulative 3.37 GWh BESS at the site, and plans to scale this up to 50 GWh over the next five years. The project gains urgency as India wasted 300 GWh of clean power in the first quarter of 2026 due to lack of storage infrastructure.
