Alabama baseball isn't too familiar with the city of Omaha. The Crimson Tide recently reached the College World Series for the first time since 1999. For reference, head coach Rob Vaughn was about a month away from his 12th birthday.The College World Series was first played in Michigan in 1947, and then once again the following year. The tournament was moved to Wichita, Kansas, in 1949, but it found its permanent home in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1950.Alabama's first-ever appearance in the CWS was a special one, as the Crimson Tide was one of the first eight teams to compete at the Omaha venue in 1950.
