The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Abuja, has confirmed the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, a former military spokesperson and senior officer of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), who died while in captivity after being abducted by terrorists.

In a statement issued on Saturday by Major General Samaila Uba, Director of Defence Information, the military expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the retired officer, describing his death as a tragic development and a significant loss to the nation and the Armed Forces.
