Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that direct funding for combat brigades and expanding their capacity to conduct basic military training on their own, combined with increased pay and new contracts, will help establish specific terms of service.
The head of state made this announcement during an address, according to Ukrinform, citing his Telegram channel.
"Direct funding for combat brigades has already proven very effective. A more equitable distribution of personnel for our brigades is already in place on a monthly basis. We are already expanding the brigades’ ability to conduct basic military training (BMT) on their own. These are good foundations for moving toward the implementation of specific terms of service, thanks to increased pay and new contracts. I expect that every element of the changes currently being implemented this summer will prove effective," he said.
Zelensky noted that the Ministry of Defense will provide details on the decisions.
