MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has clarified that only 46 individuals are confirmed dead due the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Southern and Central Mindanao last Monday.
In its situational report released Friday night, NDRRMC said that 688 individuals were injured and 38 are still missing.
The death toll was revised down from the previously reported 55, while the number of injured individuals also decreased from the earlier count of 1,120.
