Animal prints have dominated runways and wardrobes for back-to-back seasons, appearing on everything from outerwear and knits to shoes and handbags. Now, the trend is taking over this summer’s defining swimwear. As fashion continues its shift toward maximalism — with personality-packed prints, playful accessories, and oversize bug-eye sunglasses taking center stage — swimsuits are embracing a wilder aesthetic, too.
While animal-print swimwear is hardly a new concept, it’s evolving this season via elevated interpretations that feel more refined and versatile. “Animal prints are having a major moment for summer 2026, but the trend has evolved beyond traditional leopard,” Sandra Davidoff, director of corporate marketing and public relations at Miraclesuit, said. “The newest interpretations feel more sophisticated, artistic and versatile.”

Davidoff calls leopard the “reigning champion” of animal-print swimwear, but this season, she points to two emerging fashion-forward contenders coming for the crown: zebra and tiger prints. Arianna Ajtar, founder and chief executive officer of Mars the Label, agrees. “Zebra print is definitely one of the standout animal prints for summer this year,” she said. “It brings a bold yet elevated feel to beachwear collections.”
