POVA has launched the POVA 8 in India, bringing a large 8,000mAh battery, a new Alive Matrix rear display and support for 20 5G bands to the mid-range smartphone segment.
The smartphone, which appears to mark POVA's push as a standalone brand identity, comes with a 144Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 7100 processor and HiOS 16 based on Android 16.
The handset starts at Rs 29,999 and will be available in two RAM and storage configurations. The biggest highlight of the POVA 8 is the new Alive Matrix Display integrated into the rear panel.
The secondary display is designed to show notifications, incoming calls and custom visual effects without requiring users to turn the phone over and activate the main display. The feature draws comparisons with the glyph-style lighting systems seen on some premium smartphones, but POVA is positioning it as a design-led addition aimed at younger users and content creators.
Users can customise animations and visual patterns, giving the device a more distinctive appearance than conventional smartphones in this segment.POVA says the feature is intended to make interactions more engaging while also providing quick access to information such as notifications and alerts.Battery life is another major focus of the POVA 8.
