SAFETYRobin-Lee Francke|Published 31 minutes agoThe Pakistan South Africa Association has issued urgent safety advice to business owners in light of an upcoming anti-migrant shutdown, emphasising the importance of securing premises and prioritising safety.Amid rising tensions and safety concerns, it has urged members of its business community to take caution ahead of a planned shutdown by an anti-migrant organisation later this month. In a social media post to all business owners, the association said it became aware of rumours circulating regarding planned shutdowns, illegal business operations, and hijacked buildings in various areas. The association shared some safety procedures in case anyone is caught in the unrest. The tips include:If a strike, march, or protest is happening close to your branch, close the shop properly and immediately. Secure the premises and get yourself and all staff to safety. If there is insufficient time to evacuate and rioters have arrived at the business, lock yourself and all employees inside in a safe and secure area until it is safe to exit. According to the association, these steps are critical when rioters start looting specifically for insurance claims. The association said all its shops are insured for special risk events like riots, strikes, public disorder, and looting. However, the insurance would only pay out if shops were closed and rioters broke in. It said shops that remain open during such situations will not be able to claim for loss of stock or damage. “Your safety comes first. Property and stock can be replaced. Lives cannot. Stay safe,” the association added. POST
