Householders who don't sort their recycling or put out their waste on the wrong day face increased fines under France's new environmental laws.
The French government has increased the fines that can be levied for a range of environmental offences, from fly-tipping to failing to sort household waste and recycling correctly.
From June 5th, fines of between €45 and €450 can be levied for the following;
Leaving waste outside of the authorised collection hours
Failure to respect waste-sorting rules (ie putting non-recyclable items in the recycling bin)
