NAIROBI: A World Health Organization expert said on Friday that there were many “blind spots” in ‌the Ebola outbreak ‌in the ‌Democratic Republic of Congo, indicating that the full scale of the disease spread is not ‌yet ‌known.

“There are ‌still many ‌blind spots in some areas that are high ‌risk,” said Olivier le Polain, a WHO epidemiologist in Beni, eastern Congo. “Surveillance really needs to be strengthened in those areas.”
