A Durban couple was sentenced to life imprisonment for heinous crimes inflicted on a minor relative over a three-year period.
The perpetrators, both aged 30, cannot be named to protect the identity of the minor.
The couple was convicted in the Durban Regional Court on charges of attempted murder of a minor, child neglect, child abuse, and intimidation.
The court heard the crimes against the then 10-year-old took place in Welbadacht East, outside Durban, at the home of the couple.
