Photo: @edukate___/ InstagramContent creator Kate Barr, known online as EduKate, is currently walking to Hong Kong all the way from Scotland in a feat of endurance aimed at raising £1 million (HK$10.5 million) for good causes.Having started from the town of Dumfries on April 19, the former Hong Kong resident is making the vast majority of the 16,000km-plus journey on foot to raise funds for three Scottish mental-health charities: Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH), The Befriending Project and The Usual Place. She will be flying over Iran and Myanmar for safety reasons due to the ongoing conflicts in those places.“I want people to realise that normal people can do extraordinary things,” Barr says of her ambitious undertaking.She has a personal connection to each of the charities, picking SAMH after experiencing struggles with mental health and neurodiversity, and The Befriending Project because her mother worked there for more than two decades.
