The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, has urged Nigerians to reject vote buying and other forms of electoral inducement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He that the growing monetisation of the electoral process threatens democratic governance and accountability.
Olukoyede made the call on Wednesday while delivering the inaugural lecture of a High-Level Guest Speakers’ Series organised by the Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The lecture, titled “Mobilising Critical Stakeholders for Setting the Agenda for Peaceful and Credible 2027 Elections in Nigeria,” focused on measures required to safeguard the integrity of the country’s electoral process.
