The Labour Party candidate for the Nasarawa North Senatorial by-election, Labaran Maku, has alleged plans by the Nasarawa State Government and the All Progressives Congress to manipulate the outcome of the forthcoming poll scheduled for June 20, Arewa PUNCH reports.

Maku made the allegation on Thursday during a press conference in Akpata, Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of the state, claiming that certain areas had been targeted for electoral malpractice.

According to him, nine electoral wards in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area, which he described as having high voter populations, had been earmarked for what he termed “massive election rigging.”

The former Minister of Information alleged that the APC and the state government had resorted to such plans because they were uncertain of victory in the by-election.

“Because they are intimidated by my popularity across the Nasarawa North senatorial zone, they resolved to rig the election,” Maku said.
