The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) said it has recovered a black box and critical flight recording devices from the Bombardier Challenger CL-601 private jet that landed and took off on a concrete road in Delta State.
The Bureau said it has commenced an extensive probe into the incident, which occurred on Wednesday, involving the private jet bearing registration number N989BC and operated by VMO Aero Limited.
Following reports of the incident, NSIB said it moved swiftly to secure evidence and begin efforts to determine what led to the unusual event.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the NSIB said that investigators have recovered both the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and the Flight Data Recorder (FDR), commonly referred to as the aircraft's "black boxes," which are expected to provide crucial information about the moments leading up to the incident.
