Trump signs the unpopular Big Beautiful Bill Act. Is the worst yet to come?
Donald Trump has now signed the second budget reconciliation bill of his second term. Unlike last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill, a vast smorgasbord of conservative policy initiatives and attempted voter bribes, reconciliation 2.0 was by design extremely narrow. It basically involved end-running congressional Democrats to stuff ICE and the Border Patrol full of money they don’t really need in order to ensure immigration enforcement will be robust well into the next administration.
