British actor Clive Owen, who is in Sicily as the recipient of the Taormina Film Festival International Award, revealed he is currently working on a project with “The Tribe” director Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi. Although more details, including the project’s name, are under wraps, the actor said he’s “excited” about the upcoming collaboration. It’s worth noting Slaboshpytskyi is currently only pegged to one project, titled “The Tiger,” following a conservationist game warden who confronts a supernaturally powerful Siberian tiger encroaching humans in its habitat. Alexander Skarsgård and Dane DeHaan are set to star.
The project is another one in a large stack of upcoming films and TV shows starring the “Closer” lead, which includes Luke Piotrowski’s horror “Blasphemous,” Stefan Ruzowitzky’s historical drama “Kristallnacht,” Richard Hughe’s cop thriller “Scorpion” and Paramount+’s crime series “Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey.”
Asked by Variety out of Taormina about what drew him to play John Ramsey in the series, especially considering the weight of the real-life case behind the story and the legion of online sleuths who dedicate themselves to investigating the crime online, Owen said he was interested in the series because of director and creator Richard LaGravenese. “He’s a great writer,” he added.
