An 18-month old boy died on Thursday, following injury sustained on his head after the fall of a coconut on Tuesday. The incident occurred in Heranje, near Brahmavar of Udupi district.The police gave name of the deceased boy as Daksh Poojary.The police said mother of the child Suchhitra Poojary was holding the child in one hand, while dropping her daughter Diya to the school bus. At the same time a few meters from their house, a coconut fell from an old coconut tree on the head of Daksh. He was taken to a private hospital in Manipal. Daksh succumbed following an operation.
