Ireland has launched a €460 million investment through Research Ireland to establish seven Rinn research centres focused on strategic fields including artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, advanced therapies and semiconductors.
South East Technological University will participate in three of the centres, contributing expertise in artificial intelligence, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical research, and quantum information science and technology.
The eight-year initiative is expected to support more than 577 research roles, create over 800 PhD positions and leverage an additional €500 million in funding from industry and other partners across Ireland’s research ecosystem.
