Ukraine will be able to resume air traffic as early as the second day after it becomes safe to do so.
Ukraine's Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development Serhii Derkach stated this during the conference "Europe - Poland - Ukraine: Cooperate Together’26," an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to the official, all relevant services are actively working to prepare for the resumption of civil aviation flights.
"It is clear that there are currently enormous risks that unfortunately do not allow the airspace to be opened. However, we are focused on preserving airports and airport infrastructure. I would like to remind you that there are two state-owned airports – Lviv and Boryspil. We are working to ensure they are ready to reopen the next day once the security situation allows it," Derkach said.
He also noted that in addition to maintaining infrastructure, efforts are being made to preserve aviation teams and certified specialists, as they cannot be trained in a single day.
