Jimmy Kimmel took a dig at Donald Trump‘s commemorative medallions and coins — priced as high as $12,000 apiece — for the UFC fight set to take place on the White House lawn June 14, which the late-night host noted have “no face value.”
“You really have to hand it to Trump,” Kimmel said in his monologue Wednesday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” “I mean, it takes a special kind of con man to sell your supporters money they cannot spend any place.”
Kimmel noted that Trump, who was vigorously booed Monday’s Knicks-Spurs NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden, did not attend Game 4. “He elected to fart-nap at home tonight,” Kimmel joked. “He decided to stay home and get booed by his wife.”
Instead, Kimmel continued, Trump “has been gearing up for his big UFC-themed birthday party on the White House lawn this weekend. They’ve been billing this as a celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, even though it is taking place on Trump’s 80th birthday. We’re holding a Fourth of July party on June 14th.”
Then the comedian got to the pricey UFC mementos: “In case you’re wondering what kind of gift to give the president, it just so happens that the Trump family is offering a special commemorative coin with his head on it for this UFC event for the low, low price of only $11,999 and 99 cents.” Kimmel then displayed a picture of the medallion, quipping, “You can see though it’s a beautiful coin. ‘Julius UF-Caesar’ is pictured.”
