A herd of wild elephants entered a farm at Hasanur in the Thalavadi hills on Wednesday night (June 10, 2026) and damaged crops and irrigation facilities.Villagers said the herd strayed out of the forest area and entered the agricultural land belonging to Pathiramma, a farmer of Hasanur village. The elephants damaged standing crops and destroyed electric motor pumps and water pipelines installed on the farm. The damage came to light on Thursday morning (June 11, 2026) when the farmer visited the field.
