MARAMAG, Bukidnon — Line workers from the First Bukidnon Electric Cooperative Inc. (FIBECO) have been deployed to earthquake-hit areas in General Santos City (GenSan) to help restore electricity following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck off Maasim, Sarangani, on June 8.
Jemilo Pelimer, FIBECO acting general manager, said the cooperative sent personnel as part of Task Force Kapatid GenSan, an emergency response initiative under the National Electrification Administration (NEA) that mobilizes skilled workers and equipment from unaffected electric cooperatives to assist disaster-stricken areas.

The Bukidnon crew was assigned to assist South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative Inc. (Socoteco II) in inspecting and repairing critical power facilities, including substations, transformers, and distribution lines damaged by the strong quake.FEATURED STORIES
