The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Thursday (June 11, 2026) will hold a protest at the Ambedkar Statue in Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) in Maharashtra. The group will also release a manifesto recommending reforms for the conduct of government examinations across the country.“If they are not ready for a simple resignation and to admit the mistake, then how can we expect them to fix the education system? It starts with admitting a mistake,” said CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, adding that he will be campaigning across the country, appealing to the youth on the issues of education.Mr. Dipke and CJP supporters plan to travel across the country with the intention of first building credibility by addressing one issue at a time. “It has been just 15 days, give us time to decide on the course of action. If you have given 12 years of time to people power, give us at least 12 weeks,” he added. The CJP will be protesting at SPPU around 4 p.m. on Thursday (June 11, 2026), demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak and CBSE evaluation issues. Activist Sonam Wangchuk and several professors from Pune have extended their support to the CJP to agitate at SPPU.‘Only IT Cell is Indian’Calling the movement “accidental”, Mr. Dipke said, “On the day I tweeted on CJP, and it [blew] out of proportion, I was applying for a job. I was happy there, but the response made me think on these lines.” On the allegation of CJP followers being bots, Mr. Dipke said, “It was a BJP Minister, Kiran Rijiju, who tweeted that half of the followers are Pakistani. I shared the screenshot of the followers’ details, which shows 94.5% are from India,” he said.“Why are you calling them Pakistani? CBSE students are Pakistani, journalists who question the government are Pakistani, I am a national threat, then who is Indian? Only [the] IT Cell.”The CJP has also received police permission to hold the protest for two hours at the SPPU campus. After Delhi, Pune was chosen as the agitation venue because of its title of ‘Oxford of the East’. He claimed, “In 2020, SPPU ranked 12 in the list of prestigious educational institutes; today it is 91.” Published - June 11, 2026 12:17 pm IST
