The Kempegowda International Airport police in Bengaluru have registered a fresh case against a 30-year-old Nigerian woman who was arrested in July 2025 in a drug trafficking case, after authorities found that she was using a fake passport.According to the complaint filed by Vikas Singh, Sub-Inspector of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Bengaluru Zonal Unit, the accused, Fathimah Faty Ndao, is a Nigerian citizen. She was arrested at the Kempegowda International Airport on July 4, 2025, with approximately 2 kg of MDMA in her possession.Following her arrest, officials seized her passport and sent it to the Regional Passport Office in Bengaluru for verification. Passport authorities reportedly informed that the document was fake. The verification process took nearly a year.Based on the findings, the NCB lodged a complaint with the jurisdictional Yeshwantpur police seeking legal action against the accused for allegedly possessing and using a fake passport.Yeshwantpur Police registered a zero FIR under Sections 318(4), 336(3), and 340(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 12(1)(a), 12(1)(b), and 12(1)(c) of the Passports Act, 1967, and transferred the case the to the international airport police for further investigation.
