A Russian national accused of helping facilitate cyberattacks linked to the Kremlin-aligned hacking group Void Blizzard has been extradited to the U.S. after being arrested in Thailand last year.

Suspect Faces US Charges In Alleged Void Blizzard Cyber Espionage Case Denis Obrezko, 36, made his initial appearance in federal court in Boston on Tuesday after being transferred to U.S. custody, Reuters reported.

Prosecutors charged him with conspiracy to commit unauthorized access to a protected computer in connection with an alleged cyber espionage operation targeting organizations in the U.S. and other countries.

Obrezko is being held without bond while the Justice Department's National Security Division prosecutes the case.

The Justice Department did not immediately respond to Benzinga's request for comments.
