Two men of Uighur origin have been sentenced to death in Thailand on charges of detonating a bomb in 2015 at the popular Erawan shrine in the commercial heart of Bangkok, causing the death of 20 people. A Thai court found Yusufu Mieraili and Bilal Mohammed guilty of premeditated murder and attempted murder. "The defendants committed a single act that violated several laws. The court therefore imposed the most severe penalty provided by law, the death penalty," declared one of the four judges of the judging panel.
