(X/@ChikPrakash)On Monday, TMC's Sukhendu Sekhar Ray quit, followed by the resignation of Sushmita Dev on Wednesday, triggering a full blown crisis for Mamata Banerjee's party that lost power in West Bengal last month.TMC also faces rebellion of many Lok Sabha MPs who are trying to form a separate bloc in the House."I do hereby resign from the membership of Rajya Sabha," Baraik wrote to Radhakrishnan. He is also expected to meet the Rajya Sabha chairman later on Thursday.TMC, which played an effective role in defeating the Constitution amendment bill for Delimitation, faces a large-scale defection in the Lower House and is reduced to 10 MPs in the Upper House after the spate of resignations.Trinamool's Rajya Sabha floor leader Derek O'Brien told media that they had tried to reach out to every MP including Baraik, fearing resignation.Baraik however, told the party that his family member was indisposed and could not meet the party leaders.Meanwhile, there is little clarity on which TMC MPs have signed a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to seek a seperate sitting area in a bid to form a new bloc.Ironically, the resignations came even when former chief minister West Bengal Mamata Banerjee is in Delhi to attend the INDIA bloc meeting and to meet key leaders.Banerjee met Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday while Abhishek Banerjee, party general secretary, had a 1.5 hour-long meeting with Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday.
