Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a former Indian international cricket player. He served as the captain of the Indian national cricket team in Test cricket from 2008-2014 and in limited-overs formats from 2007-2017. As of 2021, Dhoni serves as the captain of the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. He played first-class cricket on the domestic level for Jharkhand. Dhoni has played 90 Tests and 350 ODIs in his cricket career. The right-handed former batsman is the only captain in cricket history to win all the ICC trophies. India won the ICC World Twenty20 in 2007 and the Asia Cups in 2010 and 2016 under his captaincy. He also led India in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 campaign which the men in blue won and also the ICC Champions Trophy 2013. He is one of the few cricketers to score over 10,000 runs in ODI matches. He is considered to be one of the greatest captains in the history of cricket. Dhoni is the recipient of numerous accolades including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. He bid farewell to international cricket on August 15, 2020.
