Taylor Swift and Mariska Hargitay shared a courtside reunion at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, but their appearance together also renewed interest in one of the pop star's most famous pets, her Scottish Fold cat, Olivia Benson, named after Hargitay's iconic Law & Order: Special Victims Unit character.The pair attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals, where the New York Knicks faced off against the San Antonio Spurs. Hargitay, 62, who appeared alongside Swift, 36, in the singer's 2015 "Bad Blood" music video, sat next to her courtside as both wore matching blue T-shirts emblazoned with "Stevie Knicks" in orange lettering.They were joined by Alana Haim and Este Haim, who also embraced the basketball-themed fashion. Alana sported a shirt reading "Knickelback," while Este wore one stamped with "Knicole Kidman."The reunion carried extra significance for Swift fans because Hargitay's long-running television character inspired the name of one of the singer's beloved cats. Swift adopted the Scottish Fold in 2014 and named it Olivia Benson after the SVU detective played by Hargitay.Nearly a decade later, the admiration came full circle when Hargitay welcomed a cat of her own in 2023 and named it Karma, after Swift's song from her Midnights album. Announcing the new family member on social media, Hargitay wrote: "Karma is a Cat @taylorswift Meet Karma. My Cat.🐱" She also tagged the post with "MeAndKarmaVibeLikeThat," "AndIKeepMySideOfMyPawClean," and "KarmaIsACat."The pair's friendship dates back years. Hargitay was one of the stars featured in Swift's star-studded "Bad Blood" music video, an experience the actress fondly recalled during a 2025 appearance on Call Her Daddy. Calling it "the best music video," Hargitay added that "it was so fun."Swift's appearance at Madison Square Garden came after a busy week for the singer. She traveled cross-country from Los Angeles, where she performed live at the world premiere of Toy Story 5 on Tuesday night, to watch the Knicks continue their first NBA Finals run since 1999. The game marked the second NBA playoff matchup Swift has attended this postseason.Her fiancé, Travis Kelce, was not at the game as the Kansas City Chiefs continue their mandatory minicamp.
